Uzbekistan Launches Major Initiative to Digitally Transform Football
Uzbekistan has unveiled a new presidential initiative focused on digitizing and expanding the popularity of football across the nation. The recently signed decree sets forth a comprehensive roadmap to modernize football infrastructure and elevate the sport’s accessibility and engagement.
⚽ Key Goals of the Decree:
Modernizing Infrastructure: Efforts will be made to align football facilities with global standards, including a significant increase in the number of pitches to encourage widespread participation.
Digitized Talent Development: The country plans to fully digitize the scouting and development process for young football talent, ensuring smoother transitions to the professional level.
💻 National Football e-Platform:
A cornerstone of the initiative is the development of a National Football Electronic Platform — a unified digital ecosystem that will centralize key data and services related to the sport.
Starting March 1, 2026, all ticketing for football matches will shift to an online system that utilizes personal identification and QR code technology for secure access.
From January 1, 2026, several activities — such as football training, scouting, and health/fitness monitoring — will begin integrating into this platform through a pilot program involving academies and training centers.
🧠 New National Football Center Divisions:
To support the digital transformation, several new specialized units will be established within the National Football Center:
DATA Football Center: A data repository for all information flowing through the platform.
Digital Situational Center: A hub for identifying promising players using analytics and monitoring tools.
VAR Operations Center: A centralized command for monitoring matches using Video Assistant Referee technology.
