Khusanov named in Uzbekistan’s World Cup squad

Manchester City centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov has earned a place in Uzbekistan’s 26-player squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

The 22-year-old made history earlier this year by becoming the first Uzbek footballer to appear in the Premier League following his move from Lens to Manchester City in January 2025.

Since arriving at the club, Khusanov has featured in 47 matches and played a key role in City’s successful campaign, helping them secure both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup last season.
