Vissel Kobe Defeats Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors to Maintain Perfect Start in AFC Champions League Elite

Vissel Kobe delivered a strong performance on Wednesday, defeating K League 1 champions Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 2-0 at Misaki Park Stadium. The result marks the J1 League side’s second straight victory in the eastern league phase of the AFC Champions League Elite 2026/27.

Early Breakthrough and Resilient Defense

The home side established an early advantage when Yuya Osako found the back of the net in the 11th minute. Michael Skibbe’s squad then had to withstand significant pressure after the interval, as Jeonbuk pushed for an equalizer inspired by Italo.

Despite the visitors’ second-half momentum, Vissel Kobe extended their lead against the run of play in the 68th minute through Yuya Kuwasaki, sealing the 2-0 scoreline.

Standings Update

With the win, Vissel Kobe moves to six points from their opening two fixtures in the eastern region. Meanwhile, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors stays on three points following their opening-match victory against Kashiwa Reysol in September.
