Saudi Stars Express Disappointment Following World Cup Elimination

Saudi Arabia’s FIFA World Cup campaign ended in disappointment after another group-stage exit, with players expressing heartbreak and promising to come back stronger following their elimination.

The Green Falcons were unable to secure the result they needed against World Cup newcomers Cape Verde, whose resilient display was enough to keep their historic tournament run alive and book a place in the Round of 32.

After the match, Saudi defender Saleh Abu Al-Shamat admitted the squad was devastated by the outcome but insisted the players had given everything for their country.

“We are deeply disappointed by the result,” he said. “There are areas where we must improve, and we accept responsibility for our performance. We understand the frustration of our supporters, but success takes time and hard work.”

Abu Al-Shamat also defended his teammates against criticism, stressing that every player is committed to representing Saudi Arabia with pride.

“We all care deeply about this country and always give our best on the pitch,” he added. “Our fans have every right to feel disappointed, and we respect that. We will learn from this experience and work to return stronger in the future.”
