Kashima Antlers Defeat Cong An Ha Noi in AFC Champions League Elite
Japanese side Kashima Antlers claimed a 1-0 away victory against Vietnam’s Cong An Ha Noi FC on Tuesday in the AFC Champions League Elite 2026/27. Toru Oniki’s team capitalized on a defensive error to secure their second consecutive win of the campaign.
Decisive Own Goal Secures Victory
The match’s lone breakthrough arrived in the 61st minute at Hanoi when Cong An Ha Noi defender Nguyen Abou Leygley Minh inadvertently turned the ball past goalkeeper Filip Nguyen. The mishap handed the reigning J1 League champions the advantage, building upon their comprehensive opening-match victory over Newcastle Jets FC last month.
Despite the loss leaving the Vietnamese club without a point from their first two fixtures, coach Mano Polking’s side delivered an encouraging display against formidable opposition.
