Vietnam, Singapore Share Points in Goalless Draw
Defending champions Vietnam were forced to settle for a goalless draw against Singapore after failing to convert their chances in an ASEAN Hyundai Cup™ 2026 Group A clash at Mỹ Đình National Stadium on Friday.
Kim Sang-sik’s side controlled much of the contest, especially in the first half, but could not break down a disciplined Singapore defence. Goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud produced another assured display, while Vietnam also struck the crossbar twice as the hosts were denied a breakthrough.
The result keeps Singapore at the top of Group A with seven points from three matches. Indonesia sit second on six points, while Vietnam remain third with four points from two games ahead of their crucial meeting with Indonesia in Bogor on Monday.
