Nepal Football Association Hit with FIFA Suspension

FIFA has suspended the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), officials confirmed on Thursday, effectively barring Nepal from participating in international football competitions.

Nepal, ranked 175th in the men’s FIFA world rankings, also has a women’s team placed 88th globally.

In a letter to ANFA, FIFA said the decision was taken due to “undue interference by a third party,” pointing to ongoing disputes between the national federation and Nepal’s National Sports Council over the governance and administration of football in the country.
